Corrections & Company Responses
How errors are corrected and how companies can respond before and after publication.
Correction policy
When FDCIC.com publishes an error, we correct it promptly, label the correction with the date and nature of the change, and preserve a visible change log on the affected page. Corrections are not hidden in silent edits.
Company response
Before a rating or claim check is published, the affected organization receives an opportunity to correct factual errors and provide a response. The response is published alongside the finding. If a company declines to respond, that is noted.
Change logs
When a rule, tool, or interpretation changes, the affected evergreen page is updated and a separate news brief records the change event. Each page displays its last-reviewed date and a visible change log when material changes occur.
Superseded content
When a new rule or tool version supersedes earlier guidance, the old page is marked "Superseded" with a redirect to the current version. We do not delete history; we label it.
